It all started with a work-study job in college. I applied for a barista position (with zero barista experience mind you) at an on-campus coffee shop/performance venue. Instead (and definitely for the better), I was placed in a production manager position for the department that oversees the performance venues, which is where I learned the ins and outs of putting together a successful event. From Grammy Foundation performances to Diwali celebrations to TEDx talks, I got to try my hand at it all and my knowledge of event planning grew with each new experience.
Fast forward a few years, and my love of events extended into a love of weddings. I started out assisting other planners on the day-of and became enamored with the idea of one day doing this on my own. In 2018, that dream came true and Events by Emily was founded. Since then, I have been so lucky to plan dozens of beautiful weddings of all shapes and sizes for some pretty incredible humans.
Life could've taken me in many directions but I landed in events, fell in love with it and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
